HAIRSPRAY\, winner of eight Tony Awards\, including Best Musical\, is a family-friendly musical\, piled bouffant-high with laughter\, romance and deliriously tuneful songs. It’s 1962 in Baltimore and the lovable plus-size teen\, Tracy Turnblad has only one desire“ to dance on the popular “Corny Collins show.” When her dream comes true\, Tracy is transformed from social outcast to sudden star. She must use her newfound power to dethrone the reigning Teen Queen\, win the affections of heartthrob\, Link Larkin\, and integrate a TV network\, all without denting her ‘do! Investors Bank was this year’s honoree. \nMonica Vermeulen\, Founder/CEO stated\, “We are so grateful to all of our sponsors\, auction donors\, entertainers and guests for their incredible support. Our new and exciting dance competition was enjoyed by everyone in attendance. We are so grateful to our dancers who worked many hours rehearsing and raising funds for our Ashley Lauren kids. The dancers put on an amazing performance. Our dancers included Carol Stillwell\, President/CEO of Stillwell-Hansen Inc. who did a beautiful waltz which transitioned into rock and roll with Joe Hasson of Fred Astaire Dance Studio of Red Bank.; Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders Deputy Director Serena DiMaso who did an amazing salsa with Andre Gosselin also from Fred Astaire; Monmouth County Freeholder Tom Arnone who did a high energy and exciting disco with Ashley Lauren Vermeulen and Tom Corley President/CPA of Cerefice & Co. and published author who did a fun hip-hop dance with Ashley Lauren Vermeulen. The winner of both the People’s Choice Award and the Judge’s Award was Carol Stillwell. DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, February 20\, 2016 beginning at 6:00 pm at the Ocean Place Resort in Long Branch\, guests will gather to honor Dr. Kenneth & Ann Nahum and their family at The Ashley Lauren Foundation’s 5th Annual “Butterfly Ball.” \nThe event provides an opportunity for attendees to enjoy an evening of fine food\, drink and entertainment while raising funds and increasing awareness of The Ashley Lauren Foundation’s mission of providing Hope & Help for Children with Cancer in NJ. Guests will enjoy a truly elegant and fun-filled 1920’s Gatsby Atmosphere during the cocktail hour. \nIn addition to an evening of dinner and dancing with music by Brian Kirk & The Jirks – guests will be able to bid on many unique auction items graciously donated by supporters of The Ashley Lauren Foundation. Founder and CEO\, Monica Vermeulen\, states\, “This is an evening not to be missed. We have many exciting things planned for the Ball. Victoria Ali and Bob Montesano\, Butterfly Ball Co-Chairs and their dedicated committee are working hard at making this a very memorable evening.” \nFunds raised by the Butterfly Ball will support the programs of The Ashley Lauren Foundation including Direct Family Assistance\, (household bills\, bills and medications not paid through medical insurance\, traveling expenses to and from hospitals\, funeral expenses\, etc.); Material Assistance (food\, clothing\, household items); Emotional Support; Support groups; Parties for the Children; Advocacy; Outings; Birthday and Holiday Gifts for the Children; “Making Dreams Come True” Program and anything else that is needed to make their lives easier and to let each child know that they are important. The Ashley Lauren Foundation does not fund research but rather are “in the trenches” with these families as they cope with the daily battle of pediatric cancer.

DESCRIPTION:The Ashley Lauren Foundation\, a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing Hope and Help to children throughout New Jersey who suffer from cancer through financial\, material and emotional support\, will be holding its 2015 “RIDE FOR HOPE” MOTORCYCLE RUN on Saturday\, September 19 in recognition of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. \nThis event is sponsored by Trinity Motorcycle Ministry. The Poker Run will be held during the NJ State H.O.G. Rally in Seaside Heights. Starting and ending point is at Hook’s\, 1320 Boulevard\, Seaside Heights\, NJ. Registration will be from 9:00 am – 11:00 am and includes continental breakfast. Local vendors or BBQ Fest is available for lunch. There will be Door Prizes and Best 3 Poker Hands Prize.

SUMMARY:“Capturing The Game” Exhibit at “Art From The Heart” Helps Children with Cancer
DESCRIPTION:Portion of sales will benefit The Ashley Lauren Foundation \nExhibit runs August 28\, 2015 to September 30\, 2015 \nArtist reception: August 28\, 6 to 9pm \nFrame to Please co-owner Megan Prenderville’s Art from the Heart project combines her commitment to supporting local charities with her desire to provide artists with the opportunity for a solo show. Each exhibit runs for a month in Red Bank’s popular Galleria. She takes no commission and asks only that the artists donate a portion of their sales to their favorite charity. \nThe next exhibit in the series\, Capturing the Game\, will showcase fine artist Mike Kupka whose work is inspired by music\, movies and his love of sports. Kupka’s pieces appear worldwide in galleries and are in the private collections of numerous celebrities and athletes. A Rahway\, NJ native\, he is a first-place winner of Beckett’s 10th annual Sports Gallery Contest and was named one of U.S. Art Magazine’s 25 Artists You Should Know. \nKupka’s portrait of Ozzy Osbourne caught the eye of a Disney Company representative that led to an eight-year stint as a licensed artist for the Disney Company. He is currently licensed by Major League Baseball\, as well as\, the estates of Thurman Munson\, Lou Gehrig and Jackie Robinson. Mike has also produced artwork for Lucas Films\, King Features\, Topps\, NFL\, NBA and NHL. \nProceeds from the sale of Kupka’s work will benefit The Ashley Lauren Foundation. Founded in 2005\, the foundation provides direct financial\, material and emotional assistance to New Jersey families dealing with a pediatric cancer diagnosis along with many programs developed to bring smiles to the children. \n“i’ve watched a lot of people close to me go through cancer\,” Kupka explained when asked how he selected his charity. “I can’t imagine what these kids have to deal with\, at such an early age. Their family and friends as well.” \nKupka studied at duCret School of Art in Plainfield\, NJ where he was introduced to the work of his greatest influences: Norman Rockwell\, Robert McGinnis\, and James Bama by his professor and mentor\, Peter Caras. SUMMARY:2015 Colts Neck Barn Tour
DESCRIPTION:The Ashley Lauren Foundation\, a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing hope and help to children throughout New Jersey who suffer from cancer through financial\, material and emotional support\, held its 2015 COLTS NECK BARN TOUR on Saturday\, September 12\, 2015. This fundraiser is held annually in observance of September’s National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. \nAcross the nation\, thousands of courageous children fight pediatric cancer each year. The Ashley Lauren Foundation’s mission is to relieve the daily burden’s thrust upon these children as they battle this disease. \nThis event is a very rare opportunity to visit some of Colts Neck’s exquisite farms and stables where champion hunter jumpers and thoroughbreds are raised and trained. \nOver 120 ticket holders toured four farms\, which included Wellspring Stables\, Colts Neck Stables\, Yellowbrook Farm/Helen Goddard LLC and Stillwell Stables as well as a tour of the beautiful Four JGs Vineyards. The tour began with coffee and apple cider donuts donated by Delicious Orchards and ended with an old-fashioned BBQ plus entertainment by Jilly Sentino at Stillwell Stables. \nSponsors of the 2015 Colts Neck Barn Tour included Investors Bank along with Carol Stillwell and Mary Ann Larkin of Stillwell Stables. \nClick here to view photos.
